Gony Zubizarreta and Marlon Lipke surfing in Hoddevik, Norway

Pro surfers & Lapoint Advocates, Gony Zubizarreta & Marlon Lipke explored unfamiliar territory on a trip to surf camp Hoddevik, Norway.

Surfing between tall mountains and old Viking settlements made it a memorable wave hunting conquest.

Gony Zubizarreta, with surfing experience from around the world from Hawaii to his home breaks of Ericeira, Portugal, was in awe by the surroundings:

- It was crazy, unlike anything I've ever done before. My expectations were high after hearing stories from friends who have done surf trips there already but I was totally blown away!

Marlon Lipke said that despite being challenged with rough weather and difficult surfing conditions during the trip, they managed to score some fun waves.

- It's a tricky wave but with loads of fun sections to hit. Also, with the set-up between tall mountains each session is a humbling, exhilarating experience of being in the hands of nature, he said.

Overlooking the mountains, the beach and the scenery, the guys also settled into the local surf community and camp life with ease, chilling out in the wood-fired hot-tub with the campers after surfs.

-  You feel like you're living in fairytale land, which you kind of are. I'm already craving to go back and I’ll definitely keep an eye on the charts this fall, said Marlon.
